About Me
I’m Rachel, a qualified psychodynamic counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I was drawn to counselling by seeing how often people carry things that feel heavy, sometimes believing they have little choice but to keep going. Whether through expectations placed on us by others, our circumstances, or the belief that we should simply be able to cope, it can be difficult to acknowledge when we’re struggling, let alone feel that we’re allowed to ask for support.
I believe that everyone deserves space to explore how they are feeling, without having to justify their difficulties.
I’m passionate about helping people develop a deeper understanding of themselves and a more compassionate way of relating to who they are. We can often be quick to criticise ourselves without fully understanding where our feelings, beliefs or ways of responding have come from. I value the opportunity counselling offers to explore these experiences with curiosity rather than judgement.
I believe deeply in the value of counselling and the possibility for meaningful change. My training in Contemporary Psychodynamic Counselling informs my work, alongside a genuine interest in understanding each person as an individual.
Inclusivity is central to my practice. I welcome people from all backgrounds and cultures, approaching each persons identity, values and lived experiences with openness, sensitivity and respect.
